Customer Question

I have a 1993 Deville. My interior lighting is not working correctly. I wanted to replace the bulbs in the interior with LEDs. So I did. I thought the trouble was due to the low resitance of LEDs screwing up the electrical system, relays, or computer. So I then re-installed the factory OEM bulbs after this trouble started. But the trouble remains! Now I'm thinking that I may have an electrical problem due to jerking around of the wires. Here is what happens...

The map lights on the ceiling if you push the right button the left light illumintes dim. If you push the left button the right light illuminates bright and the lights on the front doors come on! No lights come on when the front doors are open. If the back doors are open the only the lights on the back doors come on. Using the switch on the headlights that is suppose to turn on all the interior lights either does nothing OR causes the back lights on doors and rear pillars to alternate on/off with front door lights!

Hello my name is XXXXX XXXXX X will be more than happy to assist you.

From what you describe it sounds like you have a ground problem.

On the drivers and passenger side under the dash are gound points G200 and G201. They are located behind the plastic kick panels. See pic below.

Disconnect the grounds clean then and reconnect them tight. Now see if you have the same problem.

If you have any question please let me know.
