2001 Cadillac Seville: key in ignition, nothing happens

Resolved Question:

2001 Cadillac Seville SLS. After inserting key in ignition, nothing happens. Engine does not always turn over. There is no clicking sound or any other indication of what could be wrong. All the dashboard lights operate. I have to keep trying until it starts. The car is approaching 100,000 miles. I read that it might need a crank sensor replacement. If that is the case, what is that?

If the engine wont turn over at all then the crank sensor is not the problem. If you keep trying and eventually it does then most likely the starter is failing
