Customer Question

Sun Roof leak. 2001 DTS V8 Northstar, Carriage top. Cannot locate exhaut end of front drain tubes. They dissappear into the dash/firewalll area from window pillar. Not in back of wheel well (I think). Forums suggest snip bottom, flush or blow air to clear drains. Located rear drains in trunk. No problems with getting the headliner loose.

Optional Information:
Year : 2001
Make : Cadillac
Model : DTS
Engine : Northstar V*

Already Tried:
Online forums. Opened headliner enough to see the connections. Found rear drain exits. No action yet

Important: When installing the new rear drain hose tie wraps, position the tie wraps in order to maintain clearance between the tie wraps and the headliner.

Notice: Use care when removing and installing the headliner. If reusing the headliner lay the headliner down flat on a clean surface. Excessive bending will damage the headliner.

  7. Install the headliner to the roof.

John,

You have been very helpful and I will except your answer however,
the rear tubes I can clean. The front tubes are my problem. Are you
saying just buy new tubes instead of cleaning. Are new tubes only available from Caddy? Also,I'm not quite sure how to reroute the front tubes when I'm not sure where the originals lead to and how to get them out............Thanks, Stan

You can clean them if they are not pinched or collapsed. The replacement parts will need to come from your Cadillac dealer.

The front drain tubes run down the A pillar & exit down into the fender. They are hidden & I am sorry that I do not have a better picture.
