I have a 2001 cadillac seville sts, the service engine light is on I was told it was my torque converter. I'am trying to find out how much it is going to cost to get repaired, or do I need to get a new transmission. Also can you recommend someone to fix problem thank you

I did get a diagnostic from autozone and they told me it was my torque converter.
Greetings,What code did they pull from your vehicle?Bob
p 0741 that is the code they gave me
That code does not mean the converter is bad always, it could be but you will need to have a scan tool and possibly pull the transmission to figure it out. There is a TSB from GM about this code, you can read it here. If it is the converter parts and labor could run about $1500-$1700 from a dealer and $200-$300 less if an independent shop does it.
let me know if I can help further.
Good luck,
Bob
