Did you begin attending any kind of school or training?
I've started, on my own dime, a course for passing Comptia's A+ technical certification. I will also be paying for that test on my own. If I answer yes, will this disqualify me or in any way threaten my benefits?
As long as you are able to look for and accept full time work, the answer to that question will not disqualify you or threaten your benefits.

However, it is likely that the EDD would stop sending you continued claim forms (or stop paying on them) prior to scheduling an inteview with you to ensure that the school or training doesn't affect your ability to look for, and be ready and able to receive full time work.
