can an employer see a 5150 on your employment background?

I will be working for a large commercial and government contractor who is running a background.  I was admitted as a 5150 but NOT put on a 72 hour hold.  They evaluated me and let me go right away. I was there appx 15 hours but 14 hours was waiting for someone to evaluate me. I know HIPPA laws prevent this but as this is a government contractor, I do not know if they will have additional access to my private medical records.  I did several online backgrounds and nothing came up but  I want to be certain.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer.

Do you need some type of 'security clearance' for this position or are they just running a normal background check?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Just a standard background. I will not be working on any cleared projects so no clearance is required.

Hello Yolanda,

As long its a standard background check, the 5150 hold would not show up since it is protected medical information under HIPPA, so you don't have to worry about that being a problem for your background check.
