this same company is also saying that if I call in sick they will use my earned time off (vacation day) to pay me for the day. This means that when I want to go on vacation I wont have earned time off can they do that?
Yes, unfortunately, the company can do that.Since California employers aren't required to give employees vacation time, they can choose to deduct it when an employee calls in sick even if the employee doesn't want to use vacation time for sick days.Again, I wish I had better information to give you, but I hope you appreciate a direct and honest answer to your question.
