how do i calculate damages in a wrongful termination lawsuit?

Resolved Question:

how do i calculate damages in a wrongful termination lawsuit? once i add up all the expenses like loss of wages, retirement benefits, out of pocket med bills etc., how do i figure the amount to ask for for the defamation of character and wrongful termination?
i've been offered a settlement amount but it's low and of that the atty fees are 33% +/-.
in order to ask for a fair amount i need some multiplier or number which goes to the "pain and suffering"...

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation and hope I can help.

Typically, the multiplier would be in the range of 2 to 4 when figuring an amount for pain and suffering for defamation of character and wrongful termination, although it would vary depending on the case.

thanks - it's vague. i've added my out of pocket expenses, loss of work pay, retirement contribution, etc .. is the 2-4x based on those figures? or a portion of them or something else.

The 2 to 4 multiplier would be based on those figures.
