Can you tell me a bit more about the report. I recall the name Kerr McGee, and a bunch of concern about something they did, or didn't do but its been a long time.

Mr.Knowitall and I are not on the same frequency-lets move to another expert and move my $10 to that person. Again, all that I am after is the email address of Kerr-McGee's gold mining division - I think it's in Oklahoma City but it could be Houston. This relates to a report that they made 22 years ago. A company called Anadarko Petroleum Corp http://www.anadarko.com/default.asp acquired Kerr-McGee in 2006 http://www.anadarko.com/investor_relations/news_release_detail.asp?selectedcompany=0&id=894918&compid=0 Therefore, Kerr-McGee is no longer in existence.

I could find no indication that Anadarko conducts any gold mining activities. Is the issue you are inquiring about in connection with potentially responsible parties? If so, the status of the situation should exist with the regulatory agency(ies) that were involved. Any legal entities involved in the situation should also have knowledge of the status. If you can tell me the gold mining site to which you are inquiring, I might be able to find some additional information about the status for you.

Jan: Yes, the site is on R Ranch property-in 4/85 K-M wrote to R Ranch asking to lease 640acres -I can assume that it was turned down. R Ranch is a recreation type land, still in existence(I'm a part owner) near Hornbrook,Ca The original letter was a Leonard Huber,Mineral Landman, their Okla City, Okla. office. I was aware of Anakarko acquisition but K-M still maintains an Okla City office. I can send a copy of the K-M map of the designated property if you want -Coronet3

OK. I think I understand what you are looking for. Let me make sure. You are part owner of the R-Ranch property http://www.r-ranch.org/ In April 1985, K-M wanted to lease 640 acres of that property for gold mining activities. The entity that wrote the letter asking to lease the property came from Leonard Huber and Mineral Landman in the K-M Oklahoma City, OK office. The lease was not granted as far as you know, but you are wanting to know if there is still a possibility of gold mining activities on the R-Ranch by K-M. Is this correct?

I also wanted to let you know that although there may be Kerr-McGee signage or other type of K-M references on the Oklahoma City, OK office, the real estate was also sold as part of Anadarko's acquisiton of K-M. Here is an excerpt from an article from July 2007:

"Aubrey K. McClendon, Chesapeake’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, commented, “I am very happy to have helped return Kerr-McGee Tower to local ownership and use. Several months ago we began working with Anadarko on a significant property transaction involving a portion of their assets in the Deep Haley area. Along the way, it became clear that in order to bridge a valuation impasse, we would need an innovative way to create additional value for Chesapeake in the transaction. The Kerr-McGee properties became the last chip on the table to make the Anadarko-Chesapeake deal work for both parties. Knowing that Chesapeake did not have a need for Kerr-McGee Tower, I contacted my friend and Chesapeake co-founder Tom Ward to see if he would be interested in acquiring the Tower from us and helping restore and maintain Kerr Park. Tom was very agreeable to my offer. Tom and I have asked Rand Elliott of Elliot & Associates to develop a new plan for Kerr Park and we look forward to working with him to return the park to its former status as the jewel of downtown.”

Do you just want to contact someone via e-mail at Anadarko to verify that there will be no gold mining activities at R-Ranch?

Jan: Not exactely - I would like an email address so that I can dialoge with somebody with authority-I'd like to ask if they are willing to warm up something that started 22 years ago and is there any flexability on their part as to what each party is to do. There could be other questions depending on the desires of each party. I would not be acting alone - if anything came out of the discussions (by email) then, I would have an up-dated proposal to present to the Board of Directors of R Ranch- Coronet2
