Question

how do i have images of myself removed from a website?

a company, with whom i have no ties, is using an image of me from a tour that i was on, to promote their new company. i did not give them permission to use my image for commercial purposes, and they didnt even ask me.

Ok, if there was any notation on the tickets, forms or anything you signed that stated they could use any images while on tour then this would give them the legal right to take random photos and post them. I would suggest to contact the agency direct if none of these clauses were present and request they be removed. Let me know if you need further assistance.

THE CONTRACT SAID THEY COULD USE ONLY WITH MY PERMISSION. MY CONTRACT WAS WITH A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COMPANY OUT OF JAPAN, BUT THE IMAGES ARE BEING SHOWN ON A RECENTLY FORMED COMPANY THAT IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE COMPANY I WAS CONTRACTED WITH. THE TOUR WAS LAST YEAR.

I WAS A PART OF A GOSPEL GROUP. THEY TOOK PHOTOS AND VIDEOTAPED US SINGING BUT IT WAS FOR THAT COMPANY (S.E.T. OF TOKYO, JAPAN) ONLY, NOT THIS NEWLY FORMED COMPANY FROM THE U.S.

THEY WERE NEVER A PART OF THE COMPANY THAT HIRED ME (S.E.T.IN JAPAN). THE INDIVIDUAL WHO WAS THE PRODUCER AT THE TIME, WHO HAS SINCE BEEN FIRED FROM S.E.T., HAS STARTED A NEW COMPANY WITH HER NEW BOYFRIEND. SHE IS SHOWING THE DVD OF THE TOUR IN JAPAN, WHICH IS OWNED BY S.E.T., ON THE NEW WEBSITE, IN HOPES OF MUSTERING UP NEW BUSINESS. MY CONTRACT SPECIFICALLY STATES THAT PRIOR APPROVAL FROM ME IS NEEDED TO USE MY IMAGE IN ANY WAY. I HAVE NOT GIVEN THEM PERMISSION TO USE MY IMAGE AND HAVE ALSO REQUESTED THAT THEY REMOVE ALL IMAGES (AND THERE ARE MANY) OF ME FROM THEIR WEBSITE. APPARENTLY THEY ARE IGNORING ME.

YES THEY ARE IN THE U.S. BUT THIS IS A TOTALLY NEW COMPANY WHO HAS HAD NO ASSOCIATION WITH THE PREVIOUS COMPANY AND I HAVE NO CONTRACT WITH THEM WHATSOEVER. I HAVE ADVISED THEM THAT I DO NOT WANT MY IMAGES TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS COMPANY AT ALL, BUT I AM BEING IGNORED.

Thank you. Then at this time you need to file a complaint with the people you signed a contract with and let them go after this company legally or you will need to file suit against them. Far better and easier if you let the company that you contracted with be aware of this and let them file suit. I hope this better helps answer your question and concerns. Reply if needed.
