Question

how can I check a tradesman's licence from 2003

Sent to General Experts June 10, 2007 11:57 p.m.

Hi, I am in NSW Australia and I want to check if a tradesman was licenced in 2003 -2004.
I have searched the NSW Fair Trading site and can only find information on current licences.

Hi Huge - what type of tradesman/license (i.e. plumber, electrician, painter, etc)?

Thanks,
Dave

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Hi Hugo -

Here is the link to the NSW Builders License Check:
http://www.licencecheck.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/licence-check/Search.do

The records here include the date of issue and the date of expiration... note that there may be more than one license for a particular person or business. If you don't find what your looking for, give a call to the Office of Fair Trading they can look up the historical license information for you (You can contact Fair Trading Centres on 13 32 20 Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 5:00pm)
http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/corporate/contactus/fairtradingcentres.html

If you think they were licensed somewhere other than NSW, you can also try to look for the license at the Office of Consumer and Business affairs for South Australia :
http://150.101.71.113/pubreg/pubreg_jsp/index.html

Or the Building Services Authority for Queensland:
http://www.bsa.qld.gov.au/Home/OnlineLicenceSearch/

Or the Building Commission for Victoria
http://www.buildingcommission.com.au/www/html/256-finding-a-registered-building-practitioner.asp?intSiteID=1

If this is helpful, please click "Accept" as this is the only way I will receive credit for my effort.

Thanks,
Dave
