I'm trying to organize my office / paperwork at home - not sure what I should keep and what I can throw away or shred - help?!? Also, where do I start?

the web address seems to relate more to business related documents which doesn't apply to me - I guess I'm looking for basic stuff - ie. keep or throw away phone bills / cable bills etc. for general household - and what to keep for tax itemizing.

Sorting your paperwork can be a real pain! The "file, act, delete" system that Peter described is great for getting things into shape, or keeping them from overtaking your home office!
