You bring up an excellent question and I commend you for your interest in making the work place a safe place to be. However, implementation of a safety policy is complex as there is a need to know more about the job, job duties of the employees, job size, etc... The best source to consider would be to speak with the US Department of Labor's OSHA . OSHA can be reached here to answer questions about your own particular needs. Also depending on the size of the business, OSHA may require that you post their safety policies at your business. Posting these safety policies are legally required depending on the state the business is located. You can view the poster they have here. Again, not all poster may be required and you will need to contact them to see if any one of them is a requirement for your business.

Hello chee,

Greetings,

Some policies on hazard prevention:

1. Creating awareness and imparting training to all employees to help prevent harm from hazards like Fire, Suffocation, Drowning, Asphyxiation and so on.

2. The organization should enforce total safety standards at the company premises and should implement recommended safety practices as per government guidelines.

3. Certain precautionary measures to prevent common accidents like Electric short circuit, Explosion, Harmful gas leak, Fire accidents, Accidental Strangulation must be installed and professionally trained personnel should be made available round the clock.

4. An in-house dispensary is a must and company should make provision for the same. Ambulance services should also be made available.

I hope this information will be useful

Thanks
