Question

International Business

Company- You may select an international company and explore the various elements of the firm in the context of this course. Each chapter covers a new or different dimension of international business and how firms deal with that subject. Take the firm you selected and analyze how they adapt to each of the many areas. As part of your paper and final analysis you must offer recommendations for future improvements at the company.

Industry – compare and contrast how a given industry (your choice) operates globally. You might wish to focus on say 2 or 3 regions such as Latin America, Europe and Asia or other area such as sub Sahara Africa. Again look at the many dimensions of international business that we study in this course using this analysis to showcase your command and understanding of the concepts and differences encountered globally.

New Business Venture – develop a Business plan for a new company or expansion of an existing company (real or imagined) internationally. Again, use the various lessons learned to illustrate your understanding of the issues, challenges and potential opportunities in the international market. Many participants in past classes have used their own company and even presented their results to their firm as a potential business opportunity (this is not required however).

Business Practices Globally – If you are an accountant, lawyer, IT expert, insurance guru, or other profession you may wish to write a paper that surveys the various ways your profession operates around the world. I would recommend that you establish a fairly specific framework of elements then research your profession. An accountant might look at history, current trends, legal constraints, reporting requirements, economic factors and data requirements etc. then select the EU, Latin America, British Commonwealth, Former Soviet Republics etc. outlining and discussing the differences and potential pitfalls a US firm might encounter in each.

All papers must be at least 20 pages, double spaced using 10pt. font. This page count is for text, Graphs and charts and exhibits should be used selectively to illustrate concepts or trends that are not easily expressed using the written word.

MLT, Turabian or other standard style format is required. A cover page should be used as well as footnotes and bibliography are also required for this paper.

Hello

Reading the paper carefully, i am a little uncertain exactly what is required; Are we to chose 1 from the 4 subjects (Company, Industry etc)?

Also it makes a lot of reference to the course being studied. What course is it? Can i get hold of a subject list for this course?

Regards,

Duncan
