Writing a book

I am interested in writing a book. I am not sure what catergory it would fall under though.
I am interested in writing my honest opinions of why women act the way they do, play the games they play, the manipulation and the way we really think, being I am a woman as well.
What catergory would this fall under? Fiction? Self help?
Also, can I write a book without being a doctor or profession, but just an every day average woman?
