Speedy Motors in Eastland didn't shut down, they moved to Waterford, Michigan 9 years ago.

Reply to Theresa Romaker's Post: They laid off over 2000 workers and shut the plant down in Eastland - I am doing an ethics paper on this and needed to know if this qualified under the federal regulation WARN in 1989. The case study told us they actually shut the plant down in Eastland. I guess 9 years ago would make them responsible under this regulation. Thank you and I will send payment but could you respond to this comment?

I have to tell you, I'm wondering if the owner distorted the truth to me a bit or if the case study should have stated moved versus shut down.

Or, if Speedy shut down intentionally as stated and reorganized in a new location under the assumption that they wouldn't be responsible under the fed. reg. WARN in 1989. This could be an interesting thing to investigate?

If this is the case they are responsible and could also be penalized in a federal court for operating business fraudulently.
