Customer Question

We had a partner who died 2 years ago. He owned 20% of the company when he died. Now his wife has contacted us and wants us to buy out the shares. He was our attorney and keep the records of stock, but he did not keep any records when he passed and we have no records as well?

Thank you for your question and thank you for requesting me to assist you.

What, so far, have you done with his shares and interest? Have you managed the assets? Have you evaluated the worth of your company, for example with an accountant?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

We have not valued the company.

Because we did not hear from anyone for two years the two remaining partners assumed the 20% for the tax return.

Could we get an accountant to value the company and then make her an offer much lower?
