This answer was rated:

If an individual has an established retail business under sole proprietorship, can a second business of a different retail nature be opened and combined under an LLC using seperate
names? Can funds be pooled?
The funds may not be pooled. The LLC must maintain a separate existence and identity from the sole proprietorship. Otherwise, it could affect the personal liability protection the LLC affords.
