Hi. I would like some advice on the wording of a translation of a notarial document. In Spanish, you will see things like: "In Madrid on (date) before me, Notary XYZ, appear XXXXX XXXXX and XXXXX XXXXX..." In order to avoid this awkward and "un-English" structure, I have put the appearing parties at the end of the sentence. It's still long, but it makes more sense to me. Here is an example:"In Madrid, December twenty-eighth, two thousand, the following persons appeared before me, XYZ, a notary of this capital city and its notary association: Mr. XXXXX XXXXX, of legal age"Is this true to U.S. legal drafting or is there a better way of phrasing it?
