Attorney Arcadier : There are a number of ways. If it is a publicly trade company, it is regulated by the sec and finra. If it is a company providing defense parts or defense interests, it is covered under itar and ear. Through immigration control and visas, foreign company's are controlled as to who they can have working for them, and of course, through taxation and incentives, the government can create the interests necessary for corporations to behave in a particular way. The department of labor controls their wages, the epa controls their environmental impact, and osha controls workplace safety.
