Thank you for your question.

You mean in getting charged by the police for a DUI, or how long a DUI stays on your record?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
how long a dui can stay on my record and the dui was fifteen or twenty years ago
Expert:  Dimitry K., Esq. replied 6 years ago.
Thank you for your question.

A DUI stays on your record for life. It can never be removed or expunged. However, after 10 years, it is no longer used to "enhance" a subsequent DUI charge, which means that if you are charged with a new DUI charged today, it would not be deemed a second offense.

Good luck.
