Dear JACUSTOMER - Employment termination is the ending of an employer employee relationship. The termination may be mutual or it may be at the discretion of the employee or employer. There are various types of employment but most are considered "at will" meaning either party can terminate or end the relationship at any time.
Other types of employment would be under union or private contract so that in order to terminate there must be some reason that is permissible under the contract or there can be civil damage liability. It all depends on the wording of the employment contract.
Whenever an employee quits, retires or is fired that is considered employment termination.
