I have some checks outstanding due to payday loans that I was

Resolved Question:

I have some checks outstanding due to payday loans that I was unable to pay due to missing work after hurricane Ike. I sent each of my creditors a certified letter explaining my situation and what I could do to repay them. My question is can I go to jail for those outstanding checks that I am unable to pay at this time?

No, the creditor can sue you and obtain a judgment and seek to enforce on assets, but it is not a criminal matter.
