Customer Question

cooling not working
JA: What is the model/year of your Buick?
Customer: 2003 rendezvous
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: replaced the coolant temperature sensor
JA: Have you checked the connectors on the sensor itself? It's important that they not be loose or corroded.
Customer: they are good if I unplug the connector for it both fans come on
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?

I brought the car asis and the person who I got It from had replace the fans and thermostat. I checked the relays and the fuse they are good I repaced the coolant temperature sensor and if I remove the connector for temp sensor both fans come on

ok, have you checked the head gaskets??? common problem if the car overheated.

does it overheat

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
no oil or coolant mix
Expert:  Roy Belding replied 3 months ago.

thats not a test. you need to have a leak down test done on the cylinders to see if the coolant moves when shop air installed in the cylinders.

Cars working good now the overheating issue was the previous owner said he installed a new thermostat but he did not I took off the thermostat housing and it was missing I put in a new one and it works fine but for some reason my AC works sometimes sometimes it does not Freon is good level AC clutch will engage after while if you disengage and will not engage again
