2003 Buick Le Sabre. can't get the fuel pump out of the tank. have the ring out, assembly won't come out the hole

Hello Ron and thank you for your question,

After you remove the lock ring are you saying the pump will not pull up out of the hole?

Once the ring is remove the pump should pop up because its spring loaded. If its not then the rubber seal that seals it has likely swelled and the pump is just stuck, take a screw drive and pry around the edges and you should be able to break it free.
