My wife has a 2004 Buick Rainier 6 Cyl. Check engine light

Customer Question

Hi Eric! My wife has a 2004 Buick Rainier 6 Cyl. Check engine light blinking, figured bad coil pack, autozone read OBD-2 code as C0298, Power Tran Control Malfunction, doesn't make sense because that is for traction control. Shakes when stopped...

I am sorry for the long wait

the C0298 is a code just stating the PCM can not control traction control correctly due to usually a PCM code being set

with the check engine light blinking it means the engine is or has a misfire

there were NO P codes in the PCM at all ?
