I have a 2006 Buick Lucerne and recently had the transmission replaced. The day I drove it home the service Traction Control warning came on. The trans shop reset the computer to clear out the warning but it keeps happening and now my check engine light is on. The car doesn't shift gears well and now it has started stalling at stops. Any idea what this is? The trans shop says it has nothing to do with them replacing the transmission.

can you swing by a Pep Boys or Auto Zone and have them read the code for you ? they will do this for free for you and tell you the code number.if that check engine light is on there should be a code in the computer if you can tell me the code number we can narrow it right down very quickly.if it was not doing this before the transmission replacement it more than likey has to do with what the shop touched
The code they got at the transmission shop Monday was C042 but the service engine light was not on yet. The codes we got today are P0218, P0742, and P0751.
are they 100% sure the transmission fluid is full ? can you have a shop make sure its 100% full ? those 3 codes all lean torwards low transmission fluid
I will check that out as soon as I can and get back with you if that is not it. Thanks,
ok that is the first thing that must be checked as the P0218 is low fluid or a pump pressure problem or pick up filter in the transmission pan.that that can cause the 2 other codes you are getting
I checked the trans fluid and it is full. Anything else to check before I head back to the transmission shop?
nothing more you can check if it was not doing this before the transmission was replaced or rebuilt there is something wrong with the wiring to the transmission, valve body
