Hi,

correct, as long as the AWD disable light is on, you dont have AWD.

Have you had the computer read for stored fault codes? if so, what are they?

If not, this is the starting point. The fault codes stored in the control module tell us the area of concern. without these, it is just guessing in the dark as there are over 40 AWD fault codes and impossible to know which one is set.

once you get the fault codes, you can post them here and I can go from there in diagnosing

I will get you the fault code later today.

I called the repair shop that I took the car into a week ago and they said the code indicated that the rear valves to the AWD system needed to be replaced. Estimated cost $450. Have you heard of this before? He did not provide me with a code, should I go back in and get a code?

Thank you for your help.
