2001 buick century: trunk latch actuator from back..tumbler

how to remove trunk latch actuator from back of key lock on 2001 buick century. have it all apart but cant see how to get it off the back side of key tumbler

You are removing the actuator from the key cylinder?

GM Tech (Cam) :

It should just pull off.

Customer:

trying to put a new one on...but doesn't seem to want to pop off should I just pull or turn and pull

GM Tech (Cam) :

Rock slightly and pull back.

Customer:

got it all off except the key tumber...it won't come loose

GM Tech (Cam) :

YOu are now trying to remove thw whole key cylinder?

Customer:

got it but had to pull hard....when I put the new one on do I need to do anything special for the keyless entry?

GM Tech (Cam) :

No you should only need to install it and connect it.

Customer:

does the new one just pop or do I need to line anything up?

GM Tech (Cam) :

trigger the trunk latch with the trunk open just to make sure the system works prioor to actually closing the trunk.

GM Tech (Cam) :

look in the end of the actuator that goes on the key cylinder and try to line it up that way.

Customer:

putting it on back now will staying on just to make sure it works.

GM Tech (Cam) :
