2000 buick century: dealership)/..is a common problem due..antifreeze

2000 buick century 3.1l/ only 15k miles but with an intake gasket leak starting to present itself (according to dealership)/ know this is a common problem due to gm's antifreeze use/ repair is expensive & not a "do it myselfer" due to location/ what should i look for in order to know when this must be addressed?

how will i know when it must be changed

Usually loosing coolant and signs of coolant/oil leaks on the ends of the intake.

you say it is not that bad to do but i am concerned about the location and the components that must be removed in order to access gasket

Well, the upper intake, alternator, bracket for the alternator, coil pack assembly, throttle body, wiring, valve covers.

change the thermostat when you have the lower intake off.

I can do them in 2 hours or so.

MIxing the intake push rods up with the exahust.

only a fuel line disconnect but you can get that at any part store.

any advise on something i may have failed to ask before i attempt?

Use goo gaskets, change the thermostat,other than that, you should be good.
