The p1811 code means that the transmission is taking to long to shift from one gear to another. The engine computer checks the time it takes for the trans to shift and compares it to what it should be. If the time to shift from one gear to another is too long, it will set this code.
A few things can cause this issue. Low trans fluid, worn clutches or a bad pressure control solenoid.
The transmission on this truck is not know for allot of failures, if you have low mileage less then 100k, you may want to have the pressure control solenoid and the valve body replaced. GM does have a bulletin for this concern to replace the pressure control solenoid. I have seen valve body issues also cause this concern.
