Ask Your Own Buick Question
Is the leak on the side of the engine where the belt is?
Customer reply replied 7 years ago.
It is more towards the center. It isn't by the belt.
Is it more where the air tube comes over to the engine from the air filter?
Customer reply replied 7 years ago.

It is underneath the engine. More towards the other side.

Raise the car on jackstands and check the sides of the block and the rear, near the transmission. You most likely have a bad freeze plug. The most common areas for coolant leaks on this engine are at the plastic fitting on the intake manifold for the bypass hose, the intake manifold gaskets themselves, and the water pump. These are all located toward the top of the engine, so if your leak is from the bottom it almost has to be a bad freeze plug.
