This is what I thought. I appriceate your help. Can you tell me will the car run when you disconnect this relay. I have unplugged it and the car still runs?

Yes, after the engine is running, (and there is oil pressure) the relay is out of the picture. It is just for priming the system when you turn the key on. Here is a little diagram that may help to see what I mean.
