Is there a security light that is staying on or flashing? Did you replace the ignition switch or the key and tumbler?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
yes the security light does flash and i tried to arm and disarm the alarm yesterday using the remote last night and i replaced the entire ignition switch with the same result
Expert:  Daryl replied 7 years ago.
So you did not replace the key and tumbler/lock cylinder?

no just the switch
Expert:  Daryl replied 7 years ago.

These have a lot of problems with the lock cylinder, there are two small wires to the lock cylinder and these often break and cause the problem you are having. The lock cylinder will need to be replaced if this is the problem.

if i replace the lock cylinder will the old key work or di have to go get one cut at the dealer
Expert:  Daryl replied 7 years ago.
The new lock cylinder should come with a new key, the whole thing needs to be specific to your vehicle because of the chip in the key, so you should get the whole thing from the dealer.
