Which engine is in your Regal? 3.1, or the 3.8
If you have the 3.8 engine.. is it the supercharged version?

Do I just need my VIN to know which engine it is?

OK... it will be the 8th VIN digit that tells which engine is in your car.

OK, this is a regular 3.8L engine.. non supercharged.

You will need a special quick disconnect tool, they cost about $5 at the auto parts store.

It is under the car, bolted to the frame.. here are the instructions:
