Have you done any testing on your own yet such as testing for spark output with a timing light hen the engine stalls?
What year is the engine?
I don't know what you have for tools or knowledge about outboards, what kinds of questions did you have for me?
It's got either a bad ignition coil, bad CDI box, or a bad stator. The stator and ignition coil are directly testable with a decent quality volt/ohm meter, the CDI box is not. What needs to happen here is the problem needs to be duplicated first. Then after there is no spark, test the ignition coil and stator with the multimeter. If either component is a fail, then you would replace that component. If both components pass, then by deduction you would replace the CDI box.
