I have a Mercury 25 HP tiller. s/n OT562793 2002ELH 4 ST. It is getting hard to tilt out of the water, can the assist cylinder be recharged?

Thanks for waiting, the manual assist unit is not a serviceable item, even at dealer level. The service manual says to replace it. Make sure that the lever to allow it to be free, is still functioning correctly. Other than this, the only thing that you may be able to do is to make sure that the tilt pin is properly greased by the grease zirc on the front of the engine.
