I replaced a driveshaft and bearings in a 2002 225 torpedo

Customer Question

i replaced a driveshaft and bearings in a 2002 225 torpedo lower unit. Now when i tighten the retainer down on the top drive bearings, it tightens down on the bearings til the drive shaft won't turn. I removed shims and made no differance.

How bad was the housing damaged when the old shaft broke?

Are you getting the upper bearing race in below the retainer nut?
