Customer Question

2017 vr5. First time in water. Speedo doesn't work. Power steering seems very loose at low speed, tilt gauge reads at lowest level to keep boat nose down but any increase up beyond a small amount creates major vibration in out drive. Can't get even close to neutral trim on gauge.

You seem to have several issues here. Ill try and tackle them one at a time.

For the speed, there is a small pick up in the nose of the gear case. Make sure that it is clear.

The steering does have a bit of play in it due to the cable. This is sort of normal.

On the trim, If you are actually getting the drive all the way down, and not able to trim up at all, either the prop is out of balance, or you are actually getting the drive over trimmed and that is causing the noise. the trim sender may need to be set up again.
