I have a 1980 30' Mariner with two X 225 Mercruisers. Boat

Customer Question

I have a 1980 30' Mariner with two X 225 Mercruisers. Boat laid up out of water but in good condition. Both engines have two NEW heat exchange manifolds each (never seen salt water) and when mains pressure hose water was introduced they ran normal temperature, but now it's floating they both overheat.
Question: Is the likely cause the salt water (external not closed loop) water cooling reticulation not working because of the pump impellers needing replacement?
Many thanks,
Colin Stacey

Hello my name is ***** ***** I will assist you. The impellers normally need replacement every 3 yrs so if they have been installed for more then that it is the first step you need to do. If it still overheats then please post back as we would need to check the cooling systems step by step.
