I have a 1991 Johnson 3 hp motor. first time using it 2x6 split that was holding it split and engine won't start. I emptied gad tank put fresh mixture,still no start. Chad spark plugs not even a cough. how would I get water out of carburetor or any other suggestions?

Have you tested the spark, and compression on the engine yet? You will need to start there.

don't have way to check compression but not getting spark from new plugs

Ok, first check to ensure that the magnets are still attached to the flywheel. then locate the wires that are going from the kill switch to the ignition mod. Unplug it there and try for spark again. If you are still not getting any, you will need a multimeter to do some testing.

I was hoping their might be a screw in the carberator to let the water out etc.
this is over my skill set. I'll bring it to a mechanic.
