I have a 1998 Johnson 225 Ocean pro (model # J225RXEEN )... I have a (NO SPARK) condition and would like to know the Proper diag process

Hello Gary. My name is Tan.

Lets start with disconnecting the black/yellow wires from the power pack. Do you have spark now?

If no spark we will need a peak reading DVA adapter or an ohm meter to do some testing. THe ohm meter isn't as accurate as the DVA adapter or a peak reading volt meter.

Post back with findings.

I also have disconnected the black/yellow wires from the power pack (no spark)

Ok we can try the ohm meter. We need to disconnect the brown and brown/yellow wires from the power pack and test between the brown and brown/yellow. What is your ohm reading. You will have 2 sets of brown and brown/yellow. Test between both sets.

You will have to unbolt the power pack to get access to these wires.

I have check the ohms on both plugs (brown/brown yellow) coming FROM the power pack
I tried 20m, 200k,20k,2000,200, all position ( 1 .) although 20m starts with a large number but quickly go down to (1 .)

with the powerpack grounded (black wire on top of power pack) @ 20m it reads 8.85 or the right (standing on the boat looking at the stern ) and on the left it reads 11.80

We need to measure the wires coming from the stator. Brown to brown/yellow then each brown and brn/yel to ground. Red test lead to brown and black test lead to ground.

brown/yellow (1 .) other side (1 .)
brown to brown/yellow (0.45) other side (0.45)
all with ohm meter set to 20m
CORRECTION coming from powerpack 11.43 left
11.61 right with ohm meter set to 20m

Are the magnets still attached to the flywheel?

I'm going to say the stator is bad.

The magnets are still attached and there is no cracks or chips
Am I using the correct setting on my Ohm meter ??? ( 20m)
and so I'm clear ( the power pack is good ) !!!

There is no way to know if the power pack is good or bad. We can only test the inputs stator and timer base. The manual give the scale to be Rx100.
