Customer Question

I have a 200 salt water 0x66 on a 21 regulator. I ran the boat to fish! afterwards I turned the key to start... No gauges lite up and she wouldn't start the trim also wouldn't respond.
My electronics and lights work! I checked the in line fuse by the back battery and it was fine. New batteries this season.

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Is there a wiring mechanic there
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Let me rephrase problem that I'm having is I turn the switch the gauges dont light up the engine won't start and I have no trim power
Expert:  Jason replied 4 months ago.

I understand this. What I would ask you is have you checked all the fuses on the engine yet. Chances are you are going to ask me back, where are the fuses located on the engine. I won't know that unless I have the engine model number.

Good morning,On this engine the flow of power starts at the battery, then goes to the engine, through the engine fuses, and then up the harness to your key switch and trim controls. Step 1 is checking the fuses on the engine, I am attaching a picture showing their location. The fuses are located under a plastic cover on the side of the engine. There are 3 fuses in there, a 30 amp and then 2 80 amp fuses, check them all and let me know if they are blown or not.See attachment.
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
I checked the 30amp thats ok.
On the engine are just a connection with prongs is that the 80amp
Expert:  Jason replied 4 months ago.

You should have 2 80 amp fuses, do you see 2 80 amp fuses?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
What does an 80 amp fuse look like? I opened that up and all I see is prongs
Expert:  Jason replied 4 months ago.
I'm attaching another file, see attachment.
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
sten I need to call(###) ###-####I'm working like a blind monkey here I see a box says fuses on there that this big squared fuse before ends look call me I can't work this way please
Expert:  Jason replied 4 months ago.

I don't think me calling you is going to fix this. If you can't figure out if a fuse is good or bad on your own I think you are going to be in over your head here. I will opt out and leave this open to the community.

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Hey I've got this opened I have a box like fuse you can't leave me hanging
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
These fuses are good both 80s and the 30.
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Jason I'm on the boat now

Hello, my name is***** will assist you.

you will need to test the voltage that is going to the starter solenoid using a multimeter. If it is not with in .5V of what the battery is putting out, you would have either loose or failing battery cables. One of the two, since the fuses are all good.
