I have a 60 hp 1998 outboard. The trim has gone out with motor in the up position. Is there a way to get it to manually release?

Hello. My name is Tan.

Yes there is a manual release screw # 55 on the port side of motor. Turn screw CCW 4-5 turns the engine will drop down.

Here is a diagram of the trim unit. The screw is a large slotted head screw.http://www.marineengine.com/parts/yamaha-outboard-parts/img/62/03/0115/0010.gif

Thank you..Tan
