Cat Man....I am looking at a 2000 48' Sea Ray with 3196tas

Hello Cat Man....I am looking at a 2000 48' Sea Ray with 3196tas with approx 1000 total hours. About 500 hours ago Gas was pumped in by mistake. Supposedly CAT rebuilt the Top End and I am waiting confirmation of this. Would you Hesitate Buying this boat?

No I would not hesitate. The 3196 engine are very good engines.
When gasoline is pumped into a diesel. The biggest concern is the injectors. Because gas has no lubricity it can hurt the injectors. But it would have to run a while with gas in the fuel.
If the engine runs great with no miss or smoke. I would say the injectors are fine.Please reply back if you need more help or have more questions. I am happy to assist.
