Hello, my name is***** will assist you.

First, look at the connections on the back of the switch panel and make sure that there is no corrosion on any of the pins. then locate the brain box in the boat and inspect all of the connections for corrosion and ensure that all are tight. If nothing can be located, you wil need to replace the switch panel.

Not sure what brain box is?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
switch panel is the main control in cockpit?
Expert:  Charles replied 11 months ago.

The push button on the dash is the switch panel. The brain box, could be located inside the engine bay or in the console.

Expert:  Charles replied 11 months ago.

no way to test it? Why might the tach and speed be intermittent?
Expert:  Charles replied 11 months ago.

Did you see the diagram?

The tach and speed may be on the way out. They are 16 yrs old now.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Good point! I will try a new switch panel.... is there is no way to test the old one.
Expert:  Charles replied 11 months ago.

Did you see the diagram I sent? The wire colors are in it. You could use an ohm meter to test it.
