Have Boat Questions? Ask a Boat Repair Expert.
Hi, my name is Kerry
It's possible but not recommended because the exhaust will get very hot.
You would need to remove the exhaust riser and redirect the cooling water from the riser to a through hull fitting.
Then you would need to install exhaust piping from the engine to somewhere outside the boat.
This will be difficult in some boats with the engine below deck, not difficult in an open boat.
You would need to be sure it's safe from starting fires or burning someone on the boat.
You would also need to plug the existing exhaust outlet on the hull.
Let me know if you have more questions about this.
