Customer Question

I have a 50 HP four stroke Mercury outboard motor. When I put the throttle full to get the boat to plane, the prop seems to kick out of gear and the motor revs up. I checked the leg oil and it was cream colored, water in the leg.
What is my problem?
Is there a clutch of some sort in the leg?

Hi Robert, my name is Jason.

When did this problem start? When did it last run correctly?

When it "kicks out of gear" do you hear any grinding?
