Hi Norman, my name is Jason.

Is this an OMC or a Mercruiser, you wrote both?

When was the last time it shifted into gear, have you ever seen this shift into gear personally?

Expert:  Jason replied 11 months ago.

Hi Norm, are you still with me? Do you still need help with this?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Omc the last time it was working was yesterday . The lower unit would not shift into gear forwaror reverse . The shifter will move all the way in forward now but hangs right after you push the button in reverse and will not go into reverse

Hello. My name is Tan.

You have one of 2 things a broken shift cable or the drive is messed up. Can you check the gear lube in the drive to eliminate the drive as possible issue?

If the lube in the drive is clean with no glitter or milky lube then we have to check the shift cable.

Post back with findings and questions.
