I have a few mercury outboards. One is roughly a 81' 135hp

Customer Question

I have a few mercury outboards. One is roughly a 81' 135hp that I converted to a jet drive. Will the original lower unit with the prop fit my 74' 115hp (1115)?
Thanks,
Jerry ***@******.***

Hi Jerry, my name is Jason.

All Mercurys are cataloged by serial number, and not by year and horsepower. I would have to look this up to see if they are compatible or not. And in order to do that I will need the serial number off of both outboards. Do you have the serial numbers on both engines handy?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Not handy. Perhaps tomorrow.

No problem, there are no time limits here. Just reply back once you have the serial numbers for both engines. I can run them, and let you know if the lowers are interchangeable or not.
